***Potential ideas for project 5

  1. I love the idea, it is kind of like a spin off of where's waldo. I would brighten up the image with the remote control, but the idea is great!

  2. Great idea, maybe play with the lighting more to make it a stronger composition or are clearer focus.

  3. i really like the piano one because you don't see the 'out of place' item at first. I think that doing a typology of the out of place items is really interesting though because it instantly creating a 'searching' focal point for your viewer. It would be really interesting if you did a larger scene (like a family room or kitchen) and then placed these out of place items all over the place so that the viewer has to search to find them.

  4. Really interesting concept and idea. I think the first and the third may be my favorites because they blend in enough where you have to read them before you recognize that they are out of place.

  5. I like the idea of these being out of place. I think it would work even better if they were more close up and tighter compositions. And also brighter with lighting. Like for the remote one, really get in there so that the entire composition is full with the utensils and the remote mixed in there. I think that would make it stronger. I love the concept and you can do a lot with it!

  6. I think these are interesting...you could work on the lighting a little, maybe even try them in black and white. I think the one in the fridge is the strongest so far. Maybe you could do a series of shots in the fridge.

  7. I love the idea behind this blog. It is very creative and I love that for a lot of them you have to take a second look to realize something is actually not right. I recommend not doing anything to the lighting and almost making it a snapshot sort of feel. I think that would add to the realism of the photographs.
The first and second are definitely my favorite.

  8. It is really a creative and fun idea. I like the third one because I didn't figure out what was happening until I enlarge the photo and clearly see that was a recipe.

  9. great idea of making mini-stages or sculptures that place objects out of place. who is the person or thing that is displacing the objects? you might construct a character with certain traits who would place odd things in odd ways to give you some criteria. we would never actually see the character, but would learn about their quirky personality through their strange juxtapositions of objects?

  10. I think this is an interesting concept, but I think you could make it stronger if you made it more narrative. Like if you could show me why the things are in the wrong place. Is there a very busy person in the household who leaves things around when they're in a rush? A sleepwalker who does this at night? Someone with Alzheimers? (That's one of the symptoms)
I also love your subtlety and how it takes you a minute to figure out what doesn't belong.

  11. I think you have a creative idea but try maybe going to public places and putting objects that are suppose to be there to add some spunk. otherwish i like the one with the piano maybe include a different background.
