I chose to recreate memories of middle and high school dances, getting ready for them and being nervous and excited at the same time. Those preteen years were filled with awkwardness and angst and now that I am way beyond that, I decided to capture the moment of my sister getting ready for her own dance. I chose this scenery because the colors in her dress and the colors in the plants really complimented each other well. The contrast of the many greens to the white, blue and pinks reflect each other a lot and play off one another nicely. It is framed so that you can see all of what is going on in the moment. I wanted people to be able to see my brother in the back so it seemed as he was overlooking everything going on.
